201. Author: Buster_Brown Date: Sun 1st Jun 2025. 13:21 I’m not totally convinced that NL fancied Ngwema. Maybe his ragged selection is down to injury rather than opinion, but with NL playing Raymond/Chalmers (who he later released) in front of him more times that not, I’m not sure he’s someone that NL would choose to have as part of his squad. When Tidser had his rant about players attitude, after the Hamilton game, he seemed to disappear for a little while, but was never mentioned as being injured. Is he one of the players that Tidser singled out?? We’ll never know, but time will tell if NL rated him. Reply |

Manager tells a player he isn`t part of his plans and said player rather than sit in the stands wants to further his career. I don`t particularly see it with the afore-mentioned but who knows what turnover of players we might see this time round. Reply |
204. Author: king lad Date: Sun 1st Jun 2025. 13:51 Ngwenya will be absolutely fine, he`s a young guy that did a decent job last season, just struggled for fitness. Of course you`d look to improve the position, but no need to get rid of him under contract whilst having him as an option Reply |
205. Author: Dandy Warhol Date: Sun 1st Jun 2025. 14:17 I think some folk are getting carried away, we`re a club, hopefully, in transition, it`s not going to happen overnight. I don`t wanna go down like disco. Reply |
206. Author: kozmasrightfoot Date: Sun 1st Jun 2025. 14:24 Arrrrrggggghhhhh. Wee eck has pretty much said what I`m about to, but we don`t have a bottomless bag of moon gems that would make it possible to release contracted players fully paid up and then bring in EVEN MORE PLAYERS to replace them, as well as bringing in the already mentioned new players. It`s madness to even think that. Mehmet WILL be our back-up keeper next season, and the rest that are under contract will remain. UNLESS another club wants them, even if on loan. 207. Author: Never10yairds Date: Sun 1st Jun 2025. 14:28 It really does speak volumes about how bad recruitment has been when you look at some of the players still on the books. I’d be delighted to see of them moved on with a partial pay up if it costs us significantly less than the full cost of the remaining year on the deal. I’d actually keep Ngwenya in the squad although I’d like us to sign someone to play ahead of him. Reply |
208. Author: cammypar 1995 Date: Sun 1st Jun 2025. 15:41 Aye, it’s a tough one. From what I’ve heard, Tidser approached MOH about a mutual termination and he wasn’t up for it. A bit of a Rodwell situation really, like you saw on Sunderland `Til I Die. Unless a player’s got something lined up elsewhere, most are just gonna sit tight, pick up the wage, and wait it out. That’s the gamble you take when handing out longer term deals. Easy to say now with hindsight, of course. Kieran’s a decent squad option, no doubt, but if we’re serious about kicking on, I’d like to see us bring in someone better. Especially if Lennon’s sticking with the wing-back system, not re-signing Comrie seems to hint at that. Getting someone who suits that role would be a smart move. I’ve got a feeling we’ll see a new face in the door early next week. Still loads of time before the Betfred starts to get some new faces in. c'mon the pars Reply |
209. Author: Never10yairds Date: Sun 1st Jun 2025. 16:50 Some of them might be willing to try and find another club and take a partial pay up if the “you won’t be playing much” conversation is had. Others will be happy to just take the wage and play in the reserves. Reply |
210. Author: neils Date: Sun 1st Jun 2025. 22:42 We won`t be paying players off surely, no clubs are desperate to sign unwanted players from a team that`s been fighting relegation for 2 years, especially since this week ...there`s hundreds, if not thousands of free agents available. Ngwenya is pretty decent anyway, the only in contract players who might be gone would be for breach of contract. Mehmet will be our back up, before he signed for us he played almost no adult football (25 games in 11 seasons for a variety of clubs) so there is zero interest, he will be 33 this year also. He`s going nowhere. Reply |

212. Author: cammypar 1995 Date: Mon 2nd Jun 2025. 06:55 Bertie Paton, Sun 1 Jun 23:59 Don’t think anyone’s accepting low standards, people are just being realistic. If we pay players off, that’s money gone, and it means less to spend on actually improving the squad. Mehmet played 6 league games last season and shipped 9 goals. Not exactly screaming No.1 material but we are lumbered.with him because of mcpake. Some folk need to temper what they’re expecting from this new owner. Yeah, the board’s got money, but we’re not going to chuck millions around just for the sake of it. c'mon the pars Reply |
213. Author: Dave_1885 Date: Mon 2nd Jun 2025. 07:49 The reports I’ve heard is Lennon is on £10k a week…….and thats come from two separate sources with no connection to each other. IF we are paying that amount of money in this division, then we are already throwing money at it. I guess the rest of the transfer window will either confirm or deny if these guys are willing to chuck millions at it or not. Reply |

216. Author: cammypar 1995 Date: Mon 2nd Jun 2025. 08:35 Dave_1885, Mon 2 Jun 08:00 Absolutely no chance Lennon’s on anywhere near 10k a week, that’s £520k a year. Worth keeping in mind the whole squad was on £832k last season (source: salarysport.com). For a bit of context, David Gray is reportedly pulling in around £275k at Hibs. Lennon might be getting similar, maybe, but definitely not 10k a week. Reckon he’s probably on a modest deal compared to other championship managers, but nowhere near those kinds of numbers. c'mon the pars Post Edited (Mon 02 Jun 08:37) Reply |
217. Author: Lesliepartoo Date: Mon 2nd Jun 2025. 08:47 Kettlewell was seemingly on 130k at motherwell a year. Lennon will be about 2k a week max with a bonus for promotion possibly Cmon ye pars Reply |

219. Author: Bandy Date: Mon 2nd Jun 2025. 09:52 If Gray at Hibs is on £275k then I actually don`t think £500k for Lennon is miles away from his `market value` - he`s more experienced, higher profile, and, frankly, we probably need to be paying him to drop down to this level. It`s not beyond the realms of possibility that we are paying him that much, however most likely it`s a relatively low base package with significant performance related bonuses that works out at £10k a week if the performance criteria are met.
