1163. Author: Berkey Date: Fri 8th Aug 2025. 20:38 Starting to feel like we’ve not much wage budget left…..are we now just hoping some players we’ve made offers to decide to ‘settle’ for us and there’s not nessessarily a time limit on our offer. Author: Buster_Brown Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 09:36 Berkey, Fri 8 Aug 20:38 Not sure that I do feel this Berkey, I do think the squad is in danger of being bloated and that some need moved on, I also feel there’s a huge drop in quality in the squad, but I’m not sure that the wage budget is almost maxed out mate Reply |
1165. Author: Biggles Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 10:00 Buster_Brown, Sat 9 Aug 09:36 Huge drop in quality? I genuinely can`t see how anyone can come to that conclusion Will he save it? Save it??? He never bloody saw it! Like a bullet! Reply |
1166. Author: Dave_1885 Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 10:06 Biggles, Sat 9 Aug 10:00 Quality has improved in certain areas Biggles, but in others just as weak as before. 1 striker to start league season is like last years goalie debacle 😂 we also could be sacking 2 centre halves before the close of the window….. 1167. Author: wee eck Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 10:20 Having followed football for so many years I`m surprised so many fans seem to think that running a club and managing a squad is some sort of exact science in which every contingency and circumstance should be anticipated and provided for. There are so many variables at play which are beyond the control of a club such as ours that make a nonsense of such an idea. Reply |

1169. Author: jake89 Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 11:22 Current squad is a definite upgrade but we 100% need extra forward players. I`m a massive fan of Andrew Tod (and John too) but we can`t rely solely on him, Young and Cooper. Young is our only fit out and out striker. The rest are injured or out on loan. If we`re getting nowhere, I`d hope we`ve at least enquired about Oli Shaw. Reply |
1170. Author: Buster_Brown Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 11:48 Biggles, Sat 9 Aug 10:00 I’m not going to name players, because I’m not that guy…but if you look through the squad and if we get injuries, are the replacements necessarily better?? I don’t think so, and in some areas of the park, I think there’s a significant drop in quality. Reply |
1171. Author: cammypar 1995 Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 11:54 Buster_Brown, Sat 9 Aug 11:48 The original statement was wild and the follow up was even more rediculous. c'mon the pars Reply |
1172. Author: Biggles Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 12:04 Buster_Brown, Sat 9 Aug 11:48 "Are the replacements any better?" The replacements are better than last years options. We may be shorter on numbers but quality? I don`t think so. What areas of the park do you think we`ve had a significant drop in quality? Genuinely question. Will he save it? Save it??? He never bloody saw it! Like a bullet! Reply |
1173. Author: Biggles Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 12:11 Dave_1885, Sat 9 Aug 10:06 I agree that some areas may be as weak as before but that isn`t a "huge drop in quality" as was claimed. Granted the striker situation isn`t ideal however we have two strikers at the club, Kane and Young. We`ve loaned out Sutherland whom is also a striker because we know there are signings coming and the young guys need regular games for their development. A Tod and Cooper have filled in just fine in the interim. I have no idea on the current legal proceeding timescales to know whether or not there will be a conclusion before the end of the transfer window or not. Fisher is far down the pecking order that losing him or not isn`t going to have any meaningful effect on the first team selection Will he save it? Save it??? He never bloody saw it! Like a bullet! 1174. Author: Berkey Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 12:28 I kind of get what’s being said here, the Tod brothers were no where near the team last year and are now getting a game, Lennon didn’t see much of cooper last season to start him but now he’s getting a game. Have these guys massively improved over the summer or are they now starters as they are the best we have? The squad is only better than last year IF the potential we have signed so far this summer is realised (plus obv gilmour a massive upgrade) and we of course add 2-3 quality players. Looking forward to today’s game and seeing more of the new guys, hopefully we look more dangerous in attack this season. 1175. Author: Buster_Brown Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 14:12 Biggles, Sat 9 Aug 12:04 So there’s no drop in quality between Kane and A.Tod?? There’s no drop of quality from Otoo and Ngwema??? There’s no drop in quality between JCM and Fisher?? There’s no drop in quality in Gilmour and Hamilton?? I’m not sure if i’ve been picked up wrongly here. I think there’s additions to the squad have been of a really good standard but the drop in quality in the squad is there for all to see. Reply |
1176. Author: Berkey Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 14:25 How do we know the signings seem good enough? I thought Kearney would come in for an ineffective KRH but it’s not happened. The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity! Reply |
1177. Author: kozmasrightfoot Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 16:41 More clueless `in the know` nonsense. I firmly believe that money is still available. Its just a case of lennon wanting to spend it wisely. He`s already said he`s looking for at least one striker and maybe a centre back and creative midfielder. Pars fan. Magpies fan. Mens tennis fan. Alternative rock fan. Not a fan of much else. Reply |
1178. Author: coventrypar Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 17:13 A striker of note is all we need right now. There’s enough creativity if you have a target to give the ball to. "If you have no kind words to say you should say nothing more at all" Reply |
