964. Author: cammypar 1995 Date: Thu 17th Jul 2025. 16:37 AlterPar, Thu 17 Jul 15:51 Declan McManus went to TNS for about 70k according to Transfermarkt, and looking at his numbers (132 games, 95 goals, 26 assists) he’s clearly been banging them in for fun. He`s just made the move to Coleraine now but it does make you wonder. Some folk are quick to turn their noses up at the Welsh league or the Irish Premiership, but goals are goals and if they’ve got the attitude and fitness to step up, why not take a punt? Especially given the market we’re in, we’re not going to be spending six figures. A proven finisher like McManus at the right age and price is exactly the type we should be targeting. That level’s no walk in the park either physical, tight games, similar in ways to what we face week to week. It’s the sort of deal smart clubs make. Let other teams be snobby about it – if they’re scoring goals and fit the system, bring them in. c'mon the pars Reply |

And we apparently paid a six figure fee. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Equal rights and justice in this time Post Edited (Thu 17 Jul 16:48) Reply |

968. Author: Buster_Brown Date: Thu 17th Jul 2025. 17:26 DJAS, Thu 17 Jul 10:25 Not sure this really improves them, but does it signal the end of Hale’s time there?? A lot of (Pie & Bovril) rumours state that he was a really bad egg in the dressing room and was behind a lot of unsettling rumours during his time at St.Johnstone. When I have seen him play, since leaving us, he doesn’t seem to have the legs anymore. I know TV can be deceiving, but he looks totally done. Wouldn’t be the signing I’d want, but it’s another that’s sure to boost the Ross County wage bill, and he may even be an extra player to keep GMS company in the stand 😂 Reply |
969. Author: wee eck Date: Thu 17th Jul 2025. 17:31 Eamonn Brophy must be really out of favour at Ross County. I remember we were linked with him when James McPake was manager. I see he`s still only 29. Reply |

971. Author: neils Date: Thu 17th Jul 2025. 17:35 The last couple of years hasn`t been great football wisefor us to say the least, but I can say the players have been decent guys, honest professionals trying their best. In the not too distant past we`ve had our share of toxic personalities, grown men with ruinous habits etc. I would like to continue with doing our diligence on the players we bring in. I don`t know Nicky Clark, he did well for us, for all I know he could be a decent enough guy, but playing wise he`s done, we`ve missed out on nothing, Reply |
972. Author: Never10yairds Date: Thu 17th Jul 2025. 18:11 I’m not sure if Clark will still have goals in him at this level or not. It’s a gamble. He was a decent penalty box striker when we had him although offered precious little else. Sort of player that was fine if you are controlling games, getting plenty balls into them. Interested to see if he is still as dangerous in the box, I hope he isn’t. Reply |
973. Author: AlterPar Date: Thu 17th Jul 2025. 18:13 cammypar 1995, Thu 17 Jul 16:37 Yeah I’d agree with that. I’d actually take McManus back in a heartbeat. There will likely be a good few gems in those leagues, such as Kearney. Though I’ve obviously only seen highlights and a short cameo vs hearts, I’ve got a really good feeling about him. A similar type of player on the left would be perfect! Reply |
974. Author: NMCmassive Date: Thu 17th Jul 2025. 23:03 You would have thought the Irish premiership would roughly roughly have been a similar level to the Scottish championship 🤷🏻♂️ I certainly wouldn’t turn my nose up at any player because they were playing in a lesser known league/nation. Everyone has to start somewhere COYP Reply |
975. Author: coventrypar Date: Fri 18th Jul 2025. 00:11 With Kearney arriving thats RWB done with KRH as back up- the midfield sorted ( Lennon says so) - Otoo as LWB ( lennon says so) and I assume Ngwenway as back up ... I think we can expect: 1st team keeper ( strong pedigree) plus a back up 1 striker of note Seasoned CH as its a young defence and we are done If still here Fisher and we get a CH then out on loan Sutherlands out on loan Andrew Tod on loan with a view to January being game fit "If you have no kind words to say you should say nothing more at all" Reply |
976. Author: Higgys Mohawk Date: Fri 18th Jul 2025. 04:35 Jeffery, Thu 17 Jul 15:34 We could end up looking at Archie Mair? Former Scotland U-21 GK who has been at Norwich with a few loan spells. Him and Tobi would be good competition for the No.1 Reply |
977. Author: Berkey Date: Fri 18th Jul 2025. 07:21 Not sure I would take McManus back, worked his socks off but was never prolific and took the wrong option loads with us. Looking at his record in the Scottish championship he has 28 goals in 160 games so it’s a level he’s hardly excelled at. Ripped the Welsh league up though, to me that suggests the league is poorer rather than him improving. It’s maybe more the equivalent of league 1 level. Coventry who’s creating our goals and chances from the centre of the park this season? Gilmour, Oakley and amade are more defensive. Lennon tried to get Easton, he knows he need quality in there to unlock defences. The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity! Reply |

979. Author: parsloyal98 Date: Fri 18th Jul 2025. 08:40 Lennon isn’t ruling out the possibility of a return of Victor Wanyama. Goalie we currently have on trial is from Bournemouth https://www.removepaywall.com/search?url=https://www.dunfermlinepress.com/sport/25322978.dunfermline-neil-lennon-victor-wanyama-aims-add-experience/ Going to hazard a guess that the goalie may be Callan McKenna, formerly of Queens Park. We love Dunfermline We do! Reply |
