1004. Author: Par-timer Date: Fri 18th Jul 2025. 21:16 Looking at the full list of Championship signings and departures so far on the BBC website ( https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/ce3vdx0x76no)I would say: - the Raith, Partick and Queens Park squads look less promising so far than last season, with some influential players not yet replaced like-for-like. - Airdrie and Morton look broadly similar to last season. - Arbroath, Ayr and Ross County seem better equipped for a successful Championship campaign with some proven quality new recruits. - Pars and St Johnstone have both had big clearouts of underperforming players but the promising (on paper) new signings are largely untried at this level. Looking at the bookies’ odds, Pars as second or third favourites at approx 4/1 still looks a little optimistic compared to, say, Morton(who finished above us)’s 50/1, but there are still two weeks until the season starts and over a month before the transfer deadline… Reply |
1005. Author: Raymie the Legend Date: Fri 18th Jul 2025. 22:34 DJAS, Fri 18 Jul 20:48 I keep reading that we still have time. The league starts in two weeks. Every experienced player we have been linked with has not signed for whatever reason. ![]() It`s bloody tough being a legend Ron Atkinson - 1983 Reply |

1007. Author: wee eck Date: Fri 18th Jul 2025. 23:13 We worried that we didn`t have our squad finalised before pre-season but, when you see the amount of business that is still being done, it`s clear that was an unrealistic ambition. Reply |
1008. Author: coventrypar Date: Fri 18th Jul 2025. 23:18 The start of the season ... all a bit up and down Currently we have a decent but not spectacular squad If we get 2 or 3 seasoned pros in and they take 6 or 7 weeks to get up to speed that`s fine by me as jan/feb/march is when the changes come in the league placings "If you have no kind words to say you should say nothing more at all" Reply |

1010. Author: shellypar Date: Sat 19th Jul 2025. 07:00 Can i just add, players we are linked with does NOT mean we were in for them, so to complain we lost out on these players when we probably werent in for them is ludicrous COYP Reply |
1011. Author: Buster_Brown Date: Sat 19th Jul 2025. 08:22 shellypar, Sat 19 Jul 07:00 We’re generally keeping our transfer business close to our chests, and I like this. We can only assume we were in for Easton, due to the rumours and then the Raith contract extension statement, but that aside, move seem to be leaked a day or two before the signing. My concerns with this 2 or 3 players of experience line that gets thrown about is, where are these players?? They’re becoming less and less now. Reply |
1012. Author: Never10yairds Date: Sat 19th Jul 2025. 09:01 Lenny has said 4 or 5 experienced players still to come in before the league starts so we will see what happens. I’m hopeful the players in are going to at least be good enough to get us to the playoffs and some end of season promotion excitement. Also I feel if we are within touching distance of the league leaders in January, we will go balls deep in that window to get us over the line. Reply |
1013. Author: wee eck Date: Sat 19th Jul 2025. 10:37 Could the delay in signing experienced players be because they are based abroad? I was struck by DC`s comment in his recent update re signing Amade - `Alfons was a signing long in the making and took time to complete as the club had to go through the UK immigration process and an Exceptions panel with the SFA. He is our first international player that has required a visa since Vytas Gasputis before Covid.` Reply |
1014. Author: Rusty Shackleford Date: Sat 19th Jul 2025. 11:15 Before Arfield signed in the January window, how many of Falkirks side would you describe as having experience at the top end of the Championship? I`m not trying to be smart, I don`t follow other teams very closely. My gut instinct is I think we might be in for a nice surprise from the Pars this season. Reply |
1015. Author: GJS93 Date: Sat 19th Jul 2025. 11:45 “Ideally, you want some players with a little bit more experience, knowledge and physicality, just to again bring something different to what we already have,” he explained" " If we bring a couple of older heads in, that might help things come along. "But it`s not an exact science. We want to get good players in who will help us challenge for the Championship" ideally.... if.... more signings will be made but im not expecting all of them to be experienced, maybe a couple at best but that will be a struggle. 1016. Author: kozmasrightfoot Date: Sat 19th Jul 2025. 15:51 Celtic have 4 keepers in their squad for the Newcastle match, none of whom is Tobi. I reckon Lennon could get him if he wants, but maybe he wants a few too many pennies. I know he`s been on trial at a French club, so it might come down to who offers him more, or maybe he wants a warmer climate/change of scenery. I`m sure we`ll get someone to challenge or replace Mehmet. Pars fan. Magpies fan. Mens tennis fan. Alternative rock fan. Not a fan of much else. Reply |

1018. Author: kozmasrightfoot Date: Sat 19th Jul 2025. 16:28 He might wait until late in the window to make his decision, which could rule him out for us as we need a second senior goalie soon. 1019. Author: NMCmassive Date: Sat 19th Jul 2025. 18:48 To be honest I’ve seen to many different sources saying too many different things. 2/3/4/5 players with “experience”. Looking at what he’s added and who’s still left in the squad I’d be looking to add A GK and a winger. Then I’d be looking at a CD and a striker or a midfielder. I don’t think we’ll see loads of new faces in between now and the end of the window. The with experience statement is actually quite open ended. It could be 22yr old who’s got some 1st team experience or it could be someone dropping down from the premier trying who wants to play rather than sit on a bench for the majority of a season. Could also be someone who’s been playing league 1/2 down south or perhaps in a league elsewhere we don’t know about - another Amade 🤷🏻♂️ COYP Reply |
1020. Author: JTH123 Date: Sun 20th Jul 2025. 12:15 I`m guessing that Tobi`s been offered a deal by us and his agent is trying to get him the best deal possible. He seems to have been playing at a high level for his age up till now and being out of the picture at Celtic is about to find his starting level in mens football. Same as MFW did. Reply |
