Kane is totally unreliable in terms of staying fit and a poster above referred to bringing McCann back on a short term contract. You could start an argument in an empty room. More and more people on here recognise this yet still you persist with your ramblings. Reply |

1043. Author: Gaz3822 Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 12:22 The first one obviously. I meant to say, out of those appearances he played 90 mins 7 times. So you are right, 11 goals out of such limited game time is good. Imagine if he wasn`t injury prone. Ps you`ll do anything but agree with people Eck lol Post Edited (Sun 27 Jul 12:23) Reply |

1045. Author: Dandy Warhol Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 12:33 I don`t think there`s much argument against what Kane brings to the team and i do think he`s a victim of his own getting stuck in, however, plastic pitch, he`s abscent, games you look at and think "we`re gonna have to score here", often abscent, it just gets frustrating. I think we look less reliant on him this season but i`d hope talk of Lennon looking for 2 strikers is accurate. I don`t wanna go down like disco. Reply |
1046. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 12:33 I wonder how much it would cost to replace him with someone equally prolific and skilled at holding the ball up and linking the play, whose fitness meets the criteria of the cognoscenti on here? Given NL`s most recent comments about trying to sign a striker I suspect there aren`t many available who meet them. Reply |

Given NL`s most recent comments about trying to sign a striker I suspect there aren`t many available who meet them That`s Lennon`s and DAFC`s job to find, not ours. We`re talking about Chris Kane being injury prone, but as usual you`re all yeah but no but Vicki Pollard Reply |
1048. Author: Dandy Warhol Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 12:47 wee eck, Sun 27 Jul 12:33 Are you even reading people`s posts? No one`s arguing his worth, when available. I don`t wanna go down like disco. Reply |
1049. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 12:49 Lennon and DAFC have to operate in the real world unfortunately, unlike Vicki Pollard and a lot of the characters on here. Reply |
1050. Author: Angus_W Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 12:55 There is an answer here……. Kane has the experience but is injury prone. We have several youngsters who can play a 9 but don’t have the experience. Change Kanes role to Player/striker coach. He can pass his experience on to the youngsters whilst taking the pressure of himself to remain fit all season. Everyone wins surely? “.........it ain’t over till the Pars score!” Reply |
1051. Author: JTH123 Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 12:58 We lack a presence up front without Kane. That`s the challenge as I see it, if our main supply is to be crosses from the wide areas. Reply |
1052. Author: kozmasrightfoot Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 12:58 I reckon it`s taking so long to get a striker because he`s genuinely trying to land a really good one. So be patient and I think we`ll all be pleasantly surprised. Pars fan. Magpies fan. Mens tennis fan. Alternative rock fan. Not a fan of much else. Reply |
1053. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 13:02 I would hope he`s passing on his advice at the moment anyway. I saw him having a chat with Lucas Fyfe at half-time at Dumbarton last week as well as encouraging him during the game. If he didn`t have any injury issues he`d probably still be playing in the Premiership. We just have to make the most of him while he`s with us. Reply |
1054. Author: cammypar 1995 Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 13:15 Nobody`s denying Kane`s an asset when he`s fit, he`s got quality that stands out. But you also can`t ignore his injury record. If fitness wasn’t a concern, St Johnstone wouldn’t have let him go in the first place. c'mon the pars Reply |
1055. Author: NMCmassive Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 13:46 I don’t even know how it can be turned into an argument. Kane when fit is the best striker in the league. Kane gets injured to often to hold down a place at a premier league club He adds quality to our first team when he’s playing but we don’t have enough depth in the squad to cover for when he’s not COYP Reply |
1056. Author: Bucuresti Par Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 13:48 Yes we need another striker who is good at holding the ball up and can mix it with the physical nature of most centre backs in this league. We don`t have another player except Kane that can do this. Connor Young and the Sutherlands are only other centre forwards. Young is trying to add this to his game, the Sutherlands are quite there yet to have an impact in the Championship. Young is more of a run in behind, run the channels forward anyway - something Kane isn`t. Tod, Cooper and McLeod (I think) are all attacking midfielders, at the moment they are doing a decent job, there is some flexibility with the formation as one of the forwards can swap with whoever is playing deeper from time to time. You can even play two behind a central striker. However, I don`t think it will be enough to score the number of goals we need to be competitive at the top end of the Championship. Hope it is worth the wait, in fairness, the signings all looked to have added something so far. Reply |
1057. Author: Rusty Shackleford Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 14:01 NMCmassive, Sun 27 Jul 13:46 Haha yeah. This feels like the kind of thing that is just filling airtime for the sake of it. I`m convinced that now we have a competent owner and coaching staff that they`ve figured this out themselves and a striker is on the to-do list. Reply |
1058. Author: DA-go Par Adonis Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 14:33 With 5 subs a game, it`s not uncommon to change midfielders and forwards. It's rare that he comes on as a sub. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Equal rights and justice in this time Post Edited (Sun 27 Jul 15:01) Reply |
1059. Author: Dave_1885 Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 14:37 If its true he only played 7 full 90 mins last season, then thats under 20% of the games we played in league. Thats where the issue lies. Its great that he is a good scorer and high work rate, but not making more than 20% in full 90 mins is a worry. Also, looking more in depth, he only scored in 7 of his games last year as well - including 1 hat trick and 2 braces. 1 goal in 6 cup matches as well. Reply |
1060. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 27th Jul 2025. 14:57 I`m sure Data Analysis could be used to find a striker with a negligible injury record, who invariably plays for 90 minutes and scores at regular intervals rather than in clusters. If he`s not already under contract to a club playing at a higher level and paying higher wages, that would be ideal. Reply |
