To be fair we are going to be linked with loads of players. We need by my reckoning maybe six more….we are certainly taking our time though, hopefully the ones we bring in will get the fans excited and hopefully at least four are signed before the Kelty game…

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Daily Record:
EXCLUSIVE! Want heading to Somerset
Ayr United are set to bring Shaun Want back from Ireland.

The experienced defender has just turned down a new deal at Larne.

Want has been in Northern Ireland for three years and wanted to be closer to home for family reasons.

Scott Brown is set to fight off competition from several other Championship rivals to sign him.

He is expected to sign a two year deal at Somerset Park, subject to a medical.

Want came through the ranks at Hamilton Accies before he went out and had title success and tasted European football with Larne.

If that’s the case and we were interested, then more fool him. Playing at Somerset or playing at EEP… being a regular under Scott Brown or a regular under Neil Lennon… I know where I’d rather be.

He might think he’s got a better chance of promotion with Ayr, but if so, that’s a pretty short-sighted call.

It is…..and I am incredibly biased as well 😂

My comment was a bit tongue in cheek, a million factors could influence him towards signing for Ayr.

There could be a variety of personal reasons including travel, accommodation etc.

It seems a common statement from the press regarding competition from other championship clubs. Sounds like cut and paste from other articles to me.

It was mentioned somewhere that Want, wanted to move back to Scotland to be closer to his young child.

If they are based in the west then Ayr is obviously better for him at the end of the day.

And at this level there won`t be a difference of £100-£200 a week in wages, if you take travelling time and petrol money etc into the equation

It’s quite possible that we were not in for him?

Right. I’m buying STs for first time tomorrow. Very unlikely I’ll use them as I live 3,500 miles away but contributing towards wage bill.

Is it reasonable to assume, or at least hope, that we have made some decent signings but we are waiting to announce them to coordinate with the unveiling of the new strip?

If Ayr want to sign want, and that`s what want wants, who are we to say what wants wanting 🤔 😏 . Only want knows what want wants.

Excellent stuff Kozma. The boy must have a want about him, if what Want wants is to go to Ayr

Reporters could have a field day if they heard that rather than signing Sean Want we were moving instead for young defender James Knott at Wigan.
