According to BBC Sport -

`Bournemouth have agreed a deal for Liverpool winger Ben Doak for an initial £20m with a further £5m in add-ons. The 19-year-old is expected to complete his transfer to the south coast in the next 24 hours in a move that remains subject to paperwork and passing a medical.`

Presumably Celtic get a share of that?

Not sure as I think the transfer from Celtic to Liverpool went to a tribunal. So probably not.

Just chucked the list into copilot and asked which would be the best striker for Dunfermline to sign.

"
This is a fascinating mix of players. Let’s narrow it down to the most promising striker options for Dunfermline Athletic based on current availability, recent form, and fit for the Scottish Championship.

---

⚽️ Top Striker Candidates for Dunfermline

| Player | Age | Status | Key Attributes | Verdict |
|----------------------|-----|------------------|----------------------------------------------|---------|
| Britt Assombalonga | 32 | Free Agent | Proven EFL goal scorer, physical presence | ⭐ High impact, but likely expensive |
| Olufela Olomola | 27 | Free Agent | Scored 10 goals for Bromley last season | ✅ Affordable, realistic target |
| Macauley Bonne | 29 | Free Agent | Experienced in Championship & League One | ⚠️ Inconsistent recent form |
| Tyreece John-Jules | 23 | Free Agent | Arsenal academy product, pacey & technical | 🔄 High potential, injury-prone |
| Jack Vale | 24 | Free Agent | Wales U21 international, ex-Motherwell loan | ✅ Young, versatile, Scottish experience |
| Max Woltman | 21 | Free Agent | Ex-Liverpool youth, creative forward | 🔄 Developmental option, not prolific yet |

---

🏆 Best Fit for Dunfermline Right Now

Olufela Olomola stands out as the most realistic and effective option:
- Recently scored 10 goals for Bromley in the National League
- Free agent status makes him affordable
- Has experience across League One and Two
- Still only 27, with physicality and work rate suited to Scottish football

Jack Vale is another intriguing option:
- Young, versatile, and already familiar with Scottish football from his time at Motherwell
- Could be a smart long-term investment if Dunfermline want to develop a striker

Back to Ben Doak; the Sun are reporting that Celtic are due ` a seven-figure sum` on his move from Liverpool to Bournemouth.

Craig Wighton has decided to retire. Injuries obviously just too hard to recover from. Shame, wish him well

I think he was the best natural finisher we had at the time.

Arran Steele leaved Abroath to move to Peterhead in a permanent transfer. Arbroath around 400 season ticket sales below target and some financial issues having had wage increase bonus options in contracts of players they had last season that they are now struggling to honor.

Great signing for Motherwell, they`ve done some really shrewd business this summer.

Think we have more CH’s on our books than I can ever remember , seven I think.
Mind you we might be losing one or two soon.

Striker is a must as we have all been saying for months now. I fear we might have missed the boat on that front so it might be another loan.

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Bene and Fisher may be gone - and neither are good enough for a constant top 4 push.

JCM and Tod - both young and inexperienced, which showed last night. Good at times but also cost us in errors and poor passing.

Otoo - not a centre half.

Sam Young and Davidson - not even close to first team.

If we are playing 3 at the back, we badly need in experienced, street wise centre halves.

1 x keeper
2 x new centre halves
1 x right wing back
1 x central midfielder
2 x strikers

IMO that’s where we still need to strengthen to have any chance of top 4.

KRH isn’t good enough.
Bene needs replaced.
TOB is he even a footballer?
Young is out his depth in Championship. Cooper isn’t a striker and neither is A. Tod.
If anyone comes in for Otoo again I’d seriously sell him.
Is Connor Young any better than Taylor Sutherland? Why not keep Taylor and give him a shot.

?

Kearney ? ? J. Tod Fraser

Gilmour Amade

Caceres

Kane ?

Sutherland is even further from championship level than Young.

9 signings so far but most of the problems of recent seasons have not been fixed or remain in terms of the personnel, i dont see that changing before the window closes.
