Apparently Steven Fletcher’s set to join up with the squad for the behind closed doors game. It sounds like he’ll be involved in some capacity. Big name to be bringing in at this level if it comes off and if he’s anywhere near fit he’d be a massive handful in this league.

If that`s true. Agree

Fletcher and Kane can play 45mins each to stay fit. Genius move from Lennon if true!

Wrexham fans were disappointed he was let go. Don`t think there were any fitness issues and his technical ability is way above our level. Think he could be a brilliant signing for next season. Connor Young could learn a lot from him and Kane.

Agree, BP. A bit like Brewster and Crawford ?

Absolutely Raymie.

Fletcher would be a similar type to Brewster. Not heavily reliant on pace but a technically gifted footballer. He played 40 times for Wrexham last year.

Fletcher would stroll it at this level, even at his age. 🤞

Think Fletcher has played over 70 games last 3 seasons.......fitness not really in question then.

We had a much better midfield back then (Gary Mason, Darren Young, Barry Nicholson, et al) so here`s hoping we can also improve in this area of the park.

I see Steven Fletcher, now 38, is leaving Wrexham and looking for `a new adventure`.`

Somebody at the club must read this forum! Maybe it`s David Cook!

I hope this is more than just a rumour! That sort of signing would be worth the wait.

Would be a cracking signing. Young boys would benefit from this massively. Listened to a few podcasts where when he was mentioned it was always very positive about him.

I was very sceptical when the Pars signed Brewster at 35. It didn`t take me long to realise how misplaced that scepticism had been. Brew was perfect for Stevie. He could hold the ball up and lay off the perfect pass for his strike partner to run on to. Neither player was as effective without the other. Craig added a lot to his game during his time in Greece.

And Brewster was still playing for the Pars at 38, so I`d be delighted to welcome Fletcher. Age is no barrier if you`ve looked after yourself and you train well. Fletcher is class. Would love to see him at EEP.

He would do a job for us both on and off the park. He still doesn`t seem ready to retire. If he has kept fit he still has 2 or 3 years of playing and making a contribution. He would be a great signing for us and a leader on the park up front.

Should see the Rovers thread on Pie and Bovril.

All of a sudden they are panicking that Easton could be coming to us.

Rumours of us offering the use of our facilities for his academy and that. It’s quite a good read

Fletcher would be a statement signing. Even at 38 he would do well in this league. Lets just hope theres some new faces in the squad after this training camp, get us excited for the season ahead.

Roger Milla stormed the World Cup at the youthful age of 41, Fletcher would be a great signing. I think he`d be far more influential for Connor Young than Kane.

I was the same GG, mumping and moaning about signing a 35 year old. How wrong we were eh.

Easton doesn`t have an academy. He used to be a coach at the JC Academy.

He does, runs it with Shaun Byrne.

Which I believe was being held at Starks Park which they have removed from their community programme.
