Red Star has Joshua Oluwayemi in the squad recently - Tobi’s brother. Any chance this is mistaken identity?

Tobi has been there for a couple of weeks, definitely not his brother.

Ayr United appear to have won the race for highly-rated Celtic kid Kyle Ure.

The Hoops` B-team captain had been a target for Partick Thistle but our sister title Ayrshire Live report that Ayr, who have already signed Jude Bonnar on loan from Celtic, are in pole position.

United are of course managed by Celtic legend Scott Brown and are in talks over a co-operation agreement with the Premiership champions.

Celtic pathways manager Shaun Maloney is said to be impressed by the setup at Somerset and Ure looks set to be the next to make the move. From the daily record

Ikpeazu could leave StJohnstone due to a relegation release clause, they have offered a new deal but he has not accepted it and is looking at his options.

Michael O’Halloran played as a trialist for Morton yesterday. Came on in the Second Half supposedly.

I seen Lewis McCann doing a session with Joe Cardle yesterday morning would t mind chucking a short term deal at him if we are unable to get someone in

You would think with some decent crosses whipped into him from Kearney he could do some damage. Probably a better option up front than anything we had yesterday. Mind you, I`ve been saying he could do some damage for years and it`s not happened so far. Lennon obviously doesn`t fancy him anyway

Time we got in a couple of decent strikers and forget about the Kane`s and McCann`s of this world.

What a strange comment. Kane is under contract for another year so we can`t forget about him and McCann is no longer with us so we have forgotten about him.

We should forget about Kane being our main striker. We`ll be lucky to get 20 games out his calfs.

Can`t believe we`re in the crazy position that we`ve to pray to the high heavens every Saturday, for Kane to be injury free for the next game.

What a ludicrous situation we`re STILL in for him to be our No1 striker.

His present injury has nothing to do with his calves. He was kicked on the knee in Tuesday`s game. The physical nature of his game makes it inevitable he will suffer the normal knocks and bruises a striker tends to attract.

You can see Kane’s quality when he plays. It’s night and day compared to when he’s not there, and I think that’s exactly why St Johnstone let him go.

The problem is, his constant absence really hampers us. That said, players who score the kind of goals he does are what every team is crying out for. Just frustrating we can’t rely on him to be available more often.

c'mon the pars

Stop fluffing it Eck. Doesn`t matter what his injury is this time. These normal knocks and bruises keeps him out for 2/3 weeks at a time. Fact of the matter is, he is injury prone. Some players are, some aren`t. He is and we can`t afford to have him as number 1 striker mate...surely you have to agree 🤷‍♂️

He played 28 of 36 league games last season. Don`t know if we`re looking for facts to get in the way of the debate, however.

He played parts in those games, he was either subbed or came off the bench in the majority of them, look it up. So don`t let those facts get in your way

I suspect most players would be `injury prone` if they were kicked on the knee. Anyway, what`s better - a striker who makes 28 appearances and scores 11 goals or a striker who makes 36 appearances and scores, say, 10 goals?
