801. Author: Berry Date: Wed 25th Jun 2025. 09:32 Comrie been most dependable player we’ve had for years so can’t agree at all. Reason why I was ok with him leaving is would be good to have more of a wing back, that is just as dangerous up top as they are solid in defence and I think Bray aligns more. Would be an excellent signing for Hamilton. Reply |
802. Author: TAFKA_Super_Petrie Date: Wed 25th Jun 2025. 09:33 Fletcher would be some signing. Great pedigree and even if he cannot play every week at his age he scored a ridiculous amount of late goals for Wrexham coming off the bench last season. --------------------------------------------------------------- ![]() "People always talk about Ronaldinho and magic, but I didn't see him today. I saw Henrik Larsson; that's where the magic was." Reply |
803. Author: Bertie Paton Date: Wed 25th Jun 2025. 12:10 Topic Originator: camdeanboy85 Date: Wed 25 Jun 08:53 Looks like Aarron Comrie will sign for Hamilton. Probably about his level, haven`t been overly impressed with him in the Championship but was fine in League One. Hopefully the drop in level will help him kick on. I agree Camdeanboy. I don`t agree with this 7/10 every week stuff. Not the worst of players and certainly one of the better ones we released but limited. Not good going forward, not great on the ball. Felt he slashed at things a lot when under pressure. Physically thought he was out muscled in 50/50s. His best attribute was sticking at it, even if the winger beat him he would keep at it. Clearly most comfortable when being asked to sit as a defensive right back and not do much else. I think we can improve that area and it was the right thing for him to go. Think Top end league 1 bottom end championship was his level. Reply |
804. Author: cammypar 1995 Date: Wed 25th Jun 2025. 12:39 Parsweep, Wed 25 Jun 09:23 It’s hard to argue against the fact that League 1 is where he`s ended up, it doesn’t mean he’s a bad player, just probably reflects where he’s best suited at this stage. I liked Comrie too, always gave a solid shift and rarely let you down, but in a team that was crying out for leaders or standouts, he never quite stepped up beyond the steady 6 or 7. Nothing wrong with that, but if you’re wanting to push for top 4 or promotion, you probably need more than just steady. He’ll likely do a good job for Hamilton, but it says a lot that no Championship clubs were queuing up to take him. c'mon the pars Reply |
805. Author: wee eck Date: Wed 25th Jun 2025. 13:06 Another signing for Livi. They certainly cast their net wide - `Livingston have confirmed the signing of winger Yannik Wanner. The Haitain born German native joins the club on a three year deal from Austrian minnows SKU Amstetten for an undisclosed fee. Wanner becomes David Martindale`s eighth signing of the summer following their return to the Premiership through the play-offs.` Reply |
806. Author: Berry Date: Wed 25th Jun 2025. 13:06 I think it’s a case of, if you need a dependable, strong right back then you’d be hard pushed to find anyone at our level better than Comrie. Think it’s more of a case that football has evolved and the requirements of those in that position are different and like I say, more wing back, which isn’t in Comries toolkit. Don’t think we should take that as a slant on his capability as a footballer. Reply |

809. Author: nick_dafc1 Date: Wed 25th Jun 2025. 13:58 Parsdaft, Wed 25 Jun 13:47 Maybe there is a reason other championship clubs aren`t queuing up to sign him? Reply |
810. Author: wee eck Date: Wed 25th Jun 2025. 14:29 I would have thought Hamilton are favourites to win League 1. ICT will be their main rivals but they start with a 5-point penalty. Hamilton still have the nucleus of a competitive Championship squad and will be recruiting players they think fit that profile. It`s a shame players still get stick on here even after they`ve left the club. Reply |
811. Author: Ladswell_Thistle Date: Wed 25th Jun 2025. 14:46 Comrie lives in Hamilton so maybe not that bad a move. Save on a daily commute. Mibbe more time with his young family. Reply |
812. Author: Hay Fever Date: Wed 25th Jun 2025. 14:52 Well that would be good if Hamilton actually played in Hamilton. Still ‘What’s it called’ Cumbernauld can’t be too far away Reply |

814. Author: wee eck Date: Wed 25th Jun 2025. 17:09 Another ex-Par on the move - Experienced defender Jackson Longridge has signed for Morton on a one-year deal. The 30-year-old spent the last two years at Hamilton but left the club following their relegation to League One. And Dougie Imrie has moved swiftly to bring the former Livingston defender in, hoping he can bring `experience and versatility` to his defence. I’m delighted to get Jackson in. He will add good experience to the squad, and he can play a number of positions that will provide real versatility to the backline as well as providing competition for places. Reply |
815. Author: Bandy Date: Wed 25th Jun 2025. 18:04 I didn`t know Longridge was at Hamilton. He was the best LWB we`ve had in recent memory - if we could get him anywhere near the level he was the last time he was here, I`d take him back in a heartbeat. Has he had injuries/lost pace/form? Reply |

818. Author: neils Date: Wed 25th Jun 2025. 21:15 I think Aaron Comrie could do a lot better than third tier, playing in an empty stadium. I suppose it`s precarious though, many players will be glad to get any Full time gig, for me Comrie is top half Championship. Was sad to see him go. Reply |
819. Author: desparado Date: Wed 25th Jun 2025. 22:47 I thought he was steady, however in those two performances against Hamilton and Airdrie at EEP he was all over the place. Done a good job over a few seasons and I wish him well but I think he has found his level with Hamilton. Personally I would not touch that dodgy club with a barge pole… What an opportunity we missed in 2014. Reply |
820. Author: wee eck Date: Thu 26th Jun 2025. 00:02 As predicted Stephen Kelly is off to the States - Former Livingston midfielder Stephen Kelly has completed a life-changing switch to California. The ex-Rangers starlet has joined USL Championship side Orange County SC for the remainder of 2025. Kelly, 25, was out-of-contract after helping Livi clinch Premiership promotion via the play-offs.
