From Scott Burns in the Record -

`Raith Rovers are looking to loan Josh Gentles from Rangers. The young striker impressed on loan with Alloa Athletic last season. Barry Robson now wants to let the teenager move up to the Championship. Rovers are hoping a deal can be done quickly. The Welsh youth cap is highly-rated by Rangers. It could be the first with Rangers as part of a cooperation agreement with Rovers.`

He was fine, the issue was his fitness -hes permanently bandaged up

This was why Dundee let him go.

I`m guessing he gets signed up late, for the same reason we signed him, he`s the last decent player available at the clubs price range.

I liked him a lot, but absolutely should not be signing any more players who need injury constantly managed.

That’s pretty fairly put… pretty much agree

He certainly isn`t a prolific goalscorer. His career average is 1 goal every 6 games although he did manage 1 every 3 games at Dundee. His main assets are the strength to hold the ball up and a decent turn of space.

He never seems in any hurry to get signed up. It was right at the end of the summer window in 2023 that he signed for us and last season he didn`t sign for PT until February. Maybe football isn`t his sole source of income.

He was working towards his qualifications as an IFA when i spoke to him a year or so back Eck, would imagine he will have that to fall back on now.

depends if he is eligible for Scotland or not, if not then it would be a normal loan. thought Raith were going to consult their fans before making a decision on the agreement?

There is an ``end`` tab at the top of the page that takes you to the bottom of the thread without scrolling KRF.

Motherwell’s Kofi Balmer has a number of growing options in Scotland and England.
It remains to be seen if the Steelmen will listen to offers for the big defender.
An English League Two side is keen and he also has a number of Scottish Championship offers.
It will all come down to whether boss Jens Berthel Askou is prepared to sanction a move.
The Northern Irishman is also keen to play regular first-team football and that could also come into the equation. (daily record)

See that Celtic are signing a new centre half from Man City. Dane Murray might be available on loan? Strolled it at this level for Queen’s Park last season so maybe they’ll want him to step up to Premiership level but he would be a great signing.

I would say there is almost no chance of Murray being loaned out. Carter Vicars will miss games this season and Welsh would appear to be the one to leave.

Welsh is going to have to leave for the good of his career, I would have thought. He’s 25 now, nowhere near a First Team regular or an internationalist. He’s in danger of wasting his career.
