661. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Fri 20th Jun 2025. 09:21 I thought that the communication from the club indicated they hoped to sign players within the next 2-3 weeks. Realistically, that`s the end of June. It suggests that they are in negotiation with players and agents, and it may be that some are still under contract or their agents feel there is still time to look at their options. I`m not expecting any big money signings, potentially one or two with experience and others looking for first team football to kick on with their careers. It will be up to the coaches and manager to shape them into a team that can challenge for the title in the championship As others have said, I don`t see the players signed by other clubs in the league as being a marked improvement on the players we have. I wonder how many of them we were actually interested in signing. I suspect we are going a bit further afield. The English leagues, U21`s, and potentially international players but that may depend on permits etc. G Wardrope Post Edited (Fri 20 Jun 12:10) Reply |

Playing at the top level and European football, getting out of the championship as quickly as possible. It would logically follow that we intend to put in a credible title challenge. We would need to sign several good players to do this. I have been expecting them to arrive this summer. Perhaps with two teams coming down from the SPL, we have shelved our ambition for a year and do not intend to have a real go at getting up. Maybe it is now the plan to tread water for a year in the championship and sign some players to develop awaiting a more favourable opportunity to splash cash and get up. Reply |
663. Author: kozmasrightfoot Date: Fri 20th Jun 2025. 10:00 It`s a difficult job for any manager to turn a bottom of the league team into an instant title chasing team. It takes time, especially with a such a large turnover in players. F*lkirk winning the league was a very rare freak result that nobody would have predicted. Have a bit of patience. After last year anything is possible, but I`m not expecting us to go straight up. I`d be happy scraping into the top 4 or finishing not far off it. Anything else is a bonus. Neil Lennon is a very good manager, he is not however, a miracle worker. Pars fan. Magpies fan. Mens tennis fan. Alternative rock fan. Not a fan of much else. Reply |

669. Author: GJS93 Date: Fri 20th Jun 2025. 13:56 most managers want signings before preseason starts but live in the real world and understand thats never likely to happen, including Lennon. take it John Colquhoun isnt doing the signings this summer then? Reply |
670. Author: CitizenPar Date: Fri 20th Jun 2025. 14:02 I don`t know if anyone has previously mentioned that Nat Wedderburn has returned to Cowdenbeath. I thought, at 33, he might still have been worthy of higher than the Lowland League. Reply |

672. Author: Pars Athletic Date: Fri 20th Jun 2025. 14:15 The league Cup starts 3 weeks tomorrow. I know most teams don`t have there settled squad at that point but surely we must have some signings soon. I can see the frustrations of some supporters as this seems like deja vu from the last couple of summer transfer windows. But I`m sure Lennon must have had some assurances regarding players incoming when he was negotiating his contract, especially when he comes out with a statement saying we want out this league as quickly as possible. 674. Author: onandupthepars Date: Fri 20th Jun 2025. 15:52 Ref: GG Riva Fri 20 Jun 06:56 "Players and their agents have held the upper hand in negotiations at least since the Bosman ruling. Agents will stall on any deal, especially if there is interest from other clubs, and will use that as a lever to get more money for their clients. Some of us may think these tactics are a bit underhand, but it`s the agent`s job to get the best deal he can for the players he represents and, of course, it will see him net a bigger cut of the cake." ----------------------------------------------------------- Every time I log on hoping to see a signing and find none , I think like GG Riva posted here. I think what he says should be at the start of this thread, because it`s all there is to it. Everything else, as the saying goes, is commentary, frustration, pain brought on by unfulfilled want. Sometimes you just gotta stop wanting what you can`t have, and then the pain will go away. OK ma Pars pals? Enjoy the heatwave! Post Edited (Fri 20 Jun 15:53) Reply |

676. Author: nick_dafc1 Date: Fri 20th Jun 2025. 16:03 This thread is laughable. They can`t win. If they just sign anyone, then there will be complaints they aren`t good enough. If they are targeting players of a certain calibre, 1) they can wait and see if offered better elsewhere or 2) they chose to go elsewhere and we miss out resulting in trying to go for someone else. 679. Author: Berry Date: Fri 20th Jun 2025. 16:40 I can understand the groans at the moment to be honest. We have been promised a big summer, that the aim is promotion within two years. Lennon will be backed in the window. All the right noises however it does, at the moment anyway, feel just like last season when everything is happening around us than for us. That being said, I’m not concerned, I’m hoping we’re going for different calibre of players that we need to take extra time and work harder to acquire, ones that may have multiple options. The players that have been signed already bar maybe a couple that have gone to Ross County/St Johnstone aren’t the quality of players we need to get promoted and secondly have ability to keep us up.
