wee eck, Thu 19 Jun 17:37

Lewis Budinauckas has joined Partick Thistle on a permanent deal. He`s signed a one-year contract with the option of a further 12 months. He was at Firhill on loan last season from Rangers and featured eight times.

Good young Goalie. Coached with his Dad for a few years and he brought both his sons along periodically to our youth sessions. Good to see Lewis making his way in the game, think Kyle has had to drop down to amateurs or lower WOSFL to get an opportunity.

Nothing to do with the Pars, just good to see on a personal level.

Can`t believe the wee temper tantrums by the dot net babies on here over news signings. There`s not many that our rivals have signed that I would have liked to see here. I`d say only Dec Gallagher and Ross Doherty would get a game ahead of the players we currently have on the books, and I`d expect us to either already have better signed up or be about to. They are both the wrong side of 30 too.

Euan Murray, give me a break. He wasn`t that great when he was here, despite a few goals. Totally downed tools when he decided he was off elsewhere too. Guys like that aren`t fit to play for Dunfermline Athletic.

I`m not worried, it`ll all turn out fine

Red star, if you think anyone is having a temper tantrum, you should seek medical help for delusions.

There are pondering and mild concern.

Nobody has chucked the toys out the pram. People are just noting we are a bit behind and some of the players signed elsewhere would improve our squad.

I still believe we are in with a chance of winning the league if we get 7 or 8 good signings in.

I don`t think I`ll be taking medical advice from someone named after one of the most moronic things ever shouted from the stands "Never10Yairds". It was clearly at least 10 yards.

Anyone even showing mild concern, needs to just chill, early days

There`s plenty evidence, on here and on SM, of folk losing the plot already.

Interesting i see it mentionef here about a player who has a 1 yesr contract with option for another year. What does the options really meam
1 party does not want to use the option, therefore it does not happen

Or

Both wont to use the options so another year happens
If it not an option available and both parties want to extend they do it.
The extra option year part seems irrelevant.

I’ve only noticed one person who’s lost the plot, in the pars community group on Facebook, but he hasn’t had the plot for a long time anyway.

We`re not signing Easton, that`s a ridiculous rumor.

Da no 1 - the point I was making was not about Euan Murray specifically. I was just saying that if a good player is available now, it would be better to move quickly rather than dilly dallying and losing the player to a potential rival.

I`m not too worried yet, plenty of time. Yet, when I look at the squad as is,and see Mehmet as our main goalkeeper, I got the fear. 😱
I was quite optimistic we`d get Tobi back.

What makes you think the club is "dilly dallying", Neil? Players and their agents have held the upper hand in negotiations at least since the Bosman ruling. Agents will stall on any deal, especially if there is interest from other clubs, and will use that as a lever to get more money for their clients.

Some of us make think these tactics are a bit underhand, but it`s the agent`s job to get the best deal he can for the players he represents and, of course, it will see him net a bigger cut of the cake.

Not your average Sunday League player.

I`m not saying the club are deliberately dilly dallying, i was responding to da no 1`s point which was effectively that there`s no need to sign anyone yet because it`s only mid June.

^Suggests someone takes medication for delusions then mentions winning the league mere words later.

I don`t think there is much genuine panic although it will start getting that way watching teams squad building whilst we aren’t signing many players. That being said from the championship signings so far there isn`t much if any I would want to sign for us.

Transfer windows aren’t won in June. The smart clubs do their groundwork early but pull the trigger when the timing and price are right. Just because other teams are splashing cash now doesn’t mean it’s smart business. Livingston signings have been for the most part underwhelming.

Just because deals aren’t public yet doesn’t mean nothing’s happening behind the scenes. The club could easily be working on 2–3 priority signings that take time due to agent games, negotiations, players reluctant to sign without exploring their options.

Let’s judge the window after it closes, not while it’s barely opened.

c'mon the pars
