There`s a difference between asking for patience and just tossing out daft suggestions like let’s go sign a guy who was a regular in the league above.

Seriously, why on earth would Tiffoney come here?

Scott Tiffoney 23/24 Season (Dundee):

Apps: 33 (23 starts)

Goals: 5

Assists: 4

Key passes/game: 1.1

Minutes played: 2,100+

Helped Dundee finish 6th playing decent football.

He`s 25, entering his prime and just had a solid season in the top flight. Do you think he’s giving that up to join a side that just about scraped survival in the league below last season?

I get folk wanting signings, we all do, but let’s be realistic here. We’re not going to suddenly attract players who’ve just played 30+ games in a better team in a higher league. There’s no logical reason he’d drop down I can see.

Set the bar where it belongs. Tiffoney will probably have a deal with a new club lined up and I don`t think it will be us.

c'mon the pars

Signed for Killie. I brought this up a while back when he was mentioned. No way he was dropping down to Championship

Tiffoney announced on killie social media in last hour

Queens park made couple of additions
Josh fowler from Dubai City and Matthew Shiels from Dumbarton. Neither strike as real upgrades on who they have lost

I don`t see the wow factor in Tiffoney. He`s a forward with the goal scoring stats of a decent attacking midfielder. He doesn`t score many goals. 6 goals in 35 games doesn`t sound great to me.

I`m just saying.

As someone above said, there is a reasonable chance the manager will be looking at a few players in Bulgaria. We could pick up a gem that sees us as a good stepping stone.

What happened to Dom Thomas? I thought he was leaving Derry and returning to Scotland for family reasons? I presumed he would have something lined up but have heard nothing since.

The fact he is under contract will maybe make that one a bit different with teams needing to agree a fee.

Watching him on tv last season, his legs have gone. Was a great player but wouldn’t want him at EEP.

Aye? Anytime I`ve watched him recently he`s looked absolutely done. In the playoffs he was a red card waiting to happen.

It`s a no from me.

Agree with what others have said, wouldn’t have wanted Brannigan at east end. Don’t see him getting in Ayrs team. Squad player maybe.

Bannigan - most booked player in the league last season

Tbh, out of all the signings Championship clubs have made so far, there’s maybe one I’d have taken if he came to us. Nothing that’s made me think we’ve missed out, really. Still plenty of time and deals to be done, the window’s barely started.

Quite happy we’re not panicking and collecting signatures like Livingston seems to be. Get the right players in, not just any warm body. Quality over quantity this time, hopefully.

c'mon the pars

Have to disagree somewhat Cammy, there are a few that have signed for Ayr, RC and StJ that I rate a lot higher than their counterparts we currently have signed.

That said, if we sign better players than they have, I’ll be very pleased and I’m still hopeful we are going to bring in 7 or 8 very good players so we can compete for the title.

Shaun Want is the only player I would`ve taken from Ayr`s signings.

Liam Dick - very limited fullback, prefer Ngwenya

David Mitchell - Poor keeper

Stuart Bannigan - Legs are gone, we already have a younger yellow card machine in Hamilton 🤣

Da no 1, I mean players in our squad list who play the same position.

I think some of Ayr and Ross Counties signings (not all) have been better than what we have for the position. I did state I fully expect us to sign 7 or 8 quality players tho.
