He seemed to me to be implying that playing `young raw loans` was a big part of why we were relegated. The fact that the game he mentioned happened the season before that happened made a nonsense of his point. It`s a classic example of negative thinking being so ingrained that it distorts people`s opinions. It`s actually quite common on here unfortunately.

Could young Hearts keeper Harry Stone perhaps be on our radar?

No concrete evidence, I just read that clubs are interested in him. Lennon looking to maybe bring in 2 keepers, maybe hes one of them.

Limited experience so its just guesswork.

Ah apologies it was the season before, to be fair we were already on the downward trend from a team competing for the playoffs to a team that would be relegated just the season after.

Not like wee eck to take me referencing a single game where it was memorable in how poorly we were set up and extrapolate that i must be saying something totally different such as it was the youngsters who relegated us in his rush to try and score a point. Gosh darn it, the gruesome twosome, those heros of mediocrity who follow every post I make within 10minutes of making it have scored a rare win. At ease soldiers.

In many cases including that game against Raith where it was blatantly obvious, the youngsters were effectively hung out to dry regardless of being individually good enough or not.

Henderson was decent in his short spell with us and a bit more creative than anyone we have at the moment. Not as good as his brother Liam though.

Berkey, does it satisfy your ego to believe that some of us just visit this forum to respond to your posts?

I don`t really follow your logic in the second paragraph above. In 2020-21 Stevie Crawford was the manager but he resigned during the following close season to be replaced by Peter Grant for 2021-22. I`m pretty sure the consensus is that it was his recruitment and style of play that set us on the path to relegation, aided and abetted by John Hughes who replaced him after about 3 months. I fail to see how the way SC set us up the previous season had anything to do with it.

I wondered that myself. I saw him a few times at QoS and he looked excellent. I know a GK Coach who worked with him and he says he will be an International Goalkeeper one day. The couple of times I watched Ayr last season, he was in and out and when he was in, I didn’t see anything that made him a standout but I didn’t see anything to suggest he wasn’t good enough.

I spoke to Paul Gallagher about him (at the Meet The Goalkeepers event at East End) and he said he is very highly regarded at Hearts and they are also funding him through a legal Degree, but Gallagher also said he felt he had a big future in the game.

I would be in favour of signing him, but it would probably be a loan deal again, by the sound of things.

Harry Stone I’d take if we were going with Mehmet as number 1. He has looked alright whenever I have seen him.

I’ve also read Buster that he is very highly rated, I can only comment from experience of watching him much like yourself.

On another note all together, I’m really surprised Hale is still at County. Would really expect him to be off before the window is closed.

Whilst we would ideally like better than Mehmet, if we had to we could stick with him. If we are a bigger more physical team it would mitigate some of his flaws in terms of not leaving his line at free kicks and corners etc

Assuming we can’t have everything we want this summer I’d be happy to go with Mehmet so long as we got a new number 10 in to help create the goals

In fairness, Mehmet showed on Saturday that he`s not great when he does leave his line either

It`s absolutely wild to suggest we go with Mehmet as our first choice goalkeeper.

So much negativity about Mehmet, give him the jersey and see how he gets on. Seen a lot worse than him in my years watching Pars keepers...

A couple of items from the Record relating to the Championship -

Stevie Mallan featured as a trialist for St johnstone in their 1-1 draw with Dundee Utd. Mallan impressed for Simo Valakari.s side as the Finn looks to add to his squad ahead of their Championship campaign. And fans` reaction to the former St Mirren and Hibs star was positive, with a number keen to see him win a deal with the Perth club for this season.

and

Celtic have ditched their co-operation agreement with Queen`s Park and will go with Ayr United instead.

We`ve watched enough of Mehmet to know his level by now and one thing he`s definitely not is a starter for a team chasing a championship title. Lennon knows this fine well going by his comments. Mehmets a good back up option.

Was thinking that about you two. The very definition of Heartburn and Hiccup.

Oh aye........don't be ridiculous.

How`s Berkey`s ego going to cope with the realisation that he`s only being trolled by one poster?

From the Record -

`Hamilton boss John Rankin is hoping the club`s transfer embargo will be lifted in the next `week to ten days` – allowing him to sign trialists Charlie Telfer and Ricki Lamie. Accies are unable to sign players after being hit with a 15-point deduction and an embargo in May. The docked points meant they were relegated to League 1 and they`ve been unable to sign anyone since. Telfer and Lamie featured as trialists in the 4-0 defeat to Hearts and Rankin is hoping to be able to offer them deals soon.`

Did Aaron Comrie sign for Hamilton or not? I haven`t seen him in any line-up.

He can`t be named in any line up as he can`t be registered due to their embargo, he has meant to been playing as a Trialist.

That`s a big gamble, hanging around without getting paid and no guarantee of a deal.

At this stage, he`s probably being tagged along with promise of a deal as soon as the embargo is lifted. TBH he`s not that likely to be awash with full time offers.

Footballers take risks all the time. I`d say potentially signing a deal with Hamilton is quite a big one when it`s known that they recently have failed to pay wages. If he`s not got another deal ready then it`s not that much harm hoping it works out. If it doesn`t he can put himself back on the market without much issue at this time in the season. He`s got about 6 weeks of clubs actively looking to improve their squads to work with
