Ben McPherson has joined Partick Thistle on a season loan.

He makes the short move from Celtic for the campaign ahead - as reported by Record Sport over the weekend.

The right-back, 21, has Championship experience from a previous spell on loan at Queen`s Park and he earned minutes during pre-season for the Hoops this summer against the likes of Cork City, Sporting and Newcastle United.

"Bigger picture it’s better for Dunfermline"

until they sign a striker or two that we are trying to sign.

Hibs winning the lottery getting £1.5million for Lewis Miller, wonder how much of that they will offer for Chilokoa-Mullen....

Jake Sutherland set to go out on loan to Forfar, could face his brother Taylor as they play Clyde on Saturday.

Dear santa, all I want for Christmas is to have both brothers eventually play an integral role in our future team.

Hopefully, but from what I’ve seen so far, they’re not quite there yet. Good loan moves will help as it seems to have done with John and Andrew Tod.

No word on strikers? It was interesting hearing Brendan Rodgers making comments about not having his full team yet and "these things take time" so we`re in good company!

considering they sold their #1 striker in Jan and still not replaced him a week into August (when the striker they sold has already moved clubs again since leaving them) not sure how long these things do take/should take.

Hanley is an excellent signing at this level, even although he’s nearly 34

That’s a coup for them, fair play.

Im not so sure. 25 appearances at club level over the last 3 seasons tells its own story. Majority of those coming from the bench. His performances for the National team have left a lot to be desired. He`ll bring experience and leadership. Will do a job but not sure he is any better than what they have already.

.....as long as he stays away from the national team. Total bombs are at that level.

You can’t compare the standard at international level to that of the spl. It’s to his credit that he has played for Scotland whilst not being a regular for his club.

Agreed but you can compare the SPL to League 1/championship and he struggled to get in to Birmingham`s side last season. For what it`s worth, he shouldn`t be anywhere near the Scotland team imo

Getting a game for Scotland suggests we are not blessed with too many options there?

….or does it suggest a manager who is overly loyal to senior pro’s, who he feels has done a good job for him previously??

Both explanations are valid.

Hanley is often criticised for being slow when, in fact, he is pretty quick.

Another Scotland international on the move but he may be third choice -

`Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of goalkeeeper Angus Gunn. The Scotland international has been without a club since the end of last season after his contract with Norwich City expired. But Forest - who will play in the Conference League this season - have now handed the 29-year-old a 12 month contract. Gunn will vie for a place in between the posts with Mats Selz and Carlos Miguel.`
