1181. Author: Biggles Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 18:06 Buster_Brown, Sat 9 Aug 14:12 We`ve lost Wighton, OHallaran, Breen, Wotherspoon, Clay, Comrie, Chalmers, Mccann, Taylor Clark, Tobi We`ve brought in Amade, Gilmour, Bray, Munn, Teller. Barring a few loans (and someone ive probably missed), that`s the squad changes that have happened between last year and this year. I can`t be alone in my thoughts that this years squad has actually improved and not been significantly lowered in quality - as originally suggested. There isn`t one of the released players from last years squad I would have over this year`s squad players. Will he save it? Save it??? He never bloody saw it! Like a bullet! Reply |
1182. Author: Dave_1885 Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 18:09 Today shows we have improved both personnel wise and tactically. Anyone that doubted if Lennon was the right appointment is daft. We do, however, still need to add more quality to the team. Reply |
1183. Author: Berkey Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 18:22 Not convinced Coventry, we need a creative midfielder too, cooper seems okay but too often chooses the wrong option or the execution not quite there and it’s such a key role. Agree on the others, a CB and at least 1 striker a must along with the art midfielder. The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity! Reply |
1184. Author: Angus_W Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 18:24 We have a creative midfielder - Amade. Watch his distribution & movement he’s a class act. ‘Hello my name is Jefferson - I’m happy to be here let’s go!’ Reply |
1185. Author: Buster_Brown Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 18:36 Biggles, Sat 9 Aug 18:06 I give up! You said I originally suggested that this squad is of lower quality than last seasons squad…..I never. I never said that at all because I believe this current squad would pee all over last seasons squad. Reply |

1187. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sat 9th Aug 2025. 18:39 I think we have a very strong midfield and solid defence. We just need a couple of options up front. I don`t see that we have a default starting 11. I think we have the strength in depth to mix it up dependent on the opponents G Wardrope Reply |

1189. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 10th Aug 2025. 14:24 From the Record - `St Johnstone have knocked back an offer from Peterborough United for Mackenzie Kirk. The Championship leaders have turned down a bid from the English League One side. It remains to be seen if the Posh come back in for the Northern Ireland under-21 cap. Saints have already knocked back offers from English rivals Bristol Rovers and another from a Scottish Premiership side this summer. Championship rivals Dunfermline have also held discussions with Saints over a possible move. Kirk netted an impressive 11 goals in a team that got relegated from the Premiership. The Perth side is under no pressure to sell and will only cash-in, if the price is right. The youngster was signed from Hearts last year.` Too much competition for this one to be successful I fear. 1192. Author: GJS93 Date: Sun 10th Aug 2025. 14:57 "Adam Forrester joins St Johnstone from Hearts after the clubs confirmed a Cooperation agreement." right back at Hearts is injured so Forrester might go back immediately, if it happens what do StJohnstone do, sign a different right back or wait until Forrester can go back even if its months away? thats one problem with the "cooperation agreement" on Kirk, they will sell to highest bidder but that is very unlikely to be us. "We have a creative midfielder - Amade."....wouldnt class him as creative at all, and the point i think being made is about the number 10 role in this system which if 2 strikers come in you could have at least 5 options already here, if someone else comes in in that position then players will have to go. 1193. Author: kozmasrightfoot Date: Sun 10th Aug 2025. 15:36 Am I correct in thinking that the number 9 shirt is available? I can`t wait to see who wears it. 2 weeks without a game so hopefully it`ll be filled by then, followed by a debut hatrick against the lino lickers. Ps I`d say Amade has creative qualities in him. You`re entitled to your opinion though. Pars fan. Magpies fan. Mens tennis fan. Alternative rock fan. Not a fan of much else. Reply |
1194. Author: NMCmassive Date: Sun 10th Aug 2025. 15:53 Gilmour is an upgrade on Joe Chalmers Comrie wouldn’t have fit into these kind of tactics and actually KRH playing well and Kearney looks a good signing Oakley-Boothe looking much better this season and Amade from what little I’ve seen, looks like he could be a great signing. J Tod/Mullen IMHO looks so much further ahead than Fisher/Breen. Otoo settling really well at LWB. Couple of weeks positional things but nothing that can’t be addressed. Munn looks a fantastic GK. much better “shot stopper” than Mehmet. Confident coming off his line. His distribution needs work but his core skills in terms of shot stopping etc look solid. He’s almost an opposite to Tobi who started off with excellent distribution and the rest of his game had to progress during the season. I don’t see anything to worry about here tbh. The bench looks stronger as well 🤷🏻♂️ The only place I think we need to improve the starting 11 is a striker and possibly another attacking midfielder. For depth I’d like another CB LWB (if Ngwenya isn’t going to be it) I genuinely am struggling to see a drop in quality. I wouldn’t bet on us winning the league but I’d bet on us taking more points than last season before we add any more to the squad. COYP Reply |
1195. Author: 13en Date: Mon 11th Aug 2025. 04:20 I think everyone has picked up the drop in quality comment wrong. I think what he was trying to say is there’s a drop in quality between our starting 11 and the replacements on the bench if we get injuries. Not that the squad is worse off than last season. Reply |

1198. Author: kelty_par Date: Mon 11th Aug 2025. 18:31 Hmmm. Not sure. Centre back, left wing back and centre forward, sure. But right wing back, central midfield, attacking midfield/number 10? If someone picked up an injury and a resever had to come in, we`d still be fine I reckon. Reply |

1200. Author: wee eck Date: Wed 13th Aug 2025. 14:16 Steven Naismith has made his return to coaching after being reappointed to the Scotland staff. The former Hearts boss has been out of football after being sacked last September following a horror start to the season. Now just under a year on, he`s rejoined Steve Clarke`s coaching team. Naismith was first team coach under Clarke but left when he was appointed as caretaker boss of the Jambos, before landing the gig permanently. Now he`s back to replace John Carver, who left his role as Clarke`s No 2 to focus on managing Lechia Gdansk. Naismith is joined by Leicester City set piece coach Andrew Hughes, while Alan Irvine is staying on to assist Clarke as well. Reply |
