County have as per normal went for it, must be a massive wage bill. They will be tough to beat with the squad they have put together.

We can always check with Stranraer just before we play Ross Co….

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Ross County aiming for bankruptcy? It`s widely reported that teams like County and ICT struggle as few players want to live there far from the central belt. This means they have to offer incentives like extra wages or free/reduced rent. County will never attract a big enough crowd to be offering more than any similar sized central belt team and we all know what happens when a benefactor gets bored/runs out money/dies.

Thought Ross County were bankrolled by a pretty wealthy owner?

Another one bites the dust. What started off as a decent discussion about who`s signing where has quickly descended into the usual mud slinging. Instead of what is advertised on the thread, it`s just turned into a playground tit for tat.

No wonder folk can’t be bothered contributing anymore. Yet another thread on .net completely ruined.

Cammy, I apologise. I know I’m guilty here!

I took a few weeks off from .net cos I was bored of it myself. Come back and it’s still happening. Couldn’t help myself. I like seeing people discussing differing opinions, I don’t like a pile on because someone has a different opinion. I find it frustrating because I can discuss DAFC on other social media platforms but you always have some mad wee Ned from another club that needs to get their neb in. I like .Net cos I can see and discuss our club but I really can’t be bothered with snarky, know-it-all gang ups and constant berating of particular individuals. I’ve stuck up for peoples opinions on here even though i didn’t necessarily agree with that opinion just cos I could see what was happening.

County fans seem pretty don with cowies brand of football. Apparently they were shocking vs Stranraer. Hopefully they hold onto him until at least January in that case!

I`m gonna guess that Nicky Clark will score 4 goals against us over the course of the season (15ish overall). As long as we score more though.

You think this forum is bad, try spending an hour on MTF (mens tennis forum). You`d think tennis forumites would be polite and articulate, you`d be wrong. Everyone is a Djokotard or something equally/more offensive.

Why is it offensive to be a "Djokotard" ?

I would hope that with the recent signing, NL is looking to bring in a couple of more experience players around the 28-30 age group. Not only to produce on the park but also guide some of the younger players.

Surely there must be some medium term plan for County.

Settling for 11th whilst ducking and diving every year by virtue of hoping there is one team who are worse than you, whilst bringing in the majority of players from abroad and/or lower English leagues on loan and often having to supplement that by paying over the odds in wages or other incentives due to their physical location. Then when it goes wrong, rinse and repeat with the same cycle to get back up.

Not sure if McGregor family are involved the same way the Thompson`s were at Dundee United but you have to wonder what will happen when the time comes and there is no more investment.

It seems like a longer term version of the Gretna situation. I`m sure they`ll buy their way back up this year or next.

Ched Evans is a name that stands out. Didn’t have a good season last year, but is obviously a bit on the older side for the English Champ.

Im guessing Gunn is there to put his name in window for bigger clubs, due to his injury on international duty right after announcing leaving Norwich. There to prove his fitness more than ability Id say.

Can you not just start a thread in off topic and put this petty pihs patter in there?

St J have signed a prolific gs from the welsh league. Seems to be highly rated but difficult to judge how well he will do over here.

Louis Lloyd - watched him play for Caernarfon v Newtown back in October. Looked decent but the standout player on the pitch that day was Josh Lock for Newtown. 21 year old TNS attacking midfielder. Ironically, got loaned to Caernarfon in January after his stint finished at Newtown. Looked like he could move up in the game, suppose needs to establish himself at TNS first who are obviously head and shoulders above the rest of the Welsh League.

Ahh interesting. I wonder if it’s a league we have looked at. Probably pick them up for pretty nominal fees.

I think it is, shellypar. Some decent names in there that I’d take. Whether we would be an attractive option for any though I don’t know.

it comes up every window and like wetherby wanting an experienced goalscorer at this level, there are very few guys of that type around, available and in our price range...unless the owners start throwing even more silly money than these guys will be getting offered.
