"The usual lot".....

It`s pretty simple. If Dom Thomas was playing and on his game towards the end of that season, there`s no way we get relegated.

Not sure what bit of that you can`t understand.

Boyce on a pay as you play deal would make sense. Class act when fit, no doubt about it, but keeping him fit is the big “if”. Can’t see him coming in on peanuts either, even on a reduced deal. We`ve already got Kane who`s made of glass how many times have we said “once he`s back fit…” only for him to break down again? Having two strikers on decent wages, both with injury red flags? Seems a bit of a gamble. Wouldn’t want to be relying on both week in, week out. That being said, when Boyce is on it, he’s a handful. He has a good touch, brings others into play, knows where the net is very similar to kane. Could be a shrewd bit of business if we manage his minutes properly.

As for Morrison no doubt he is a talented lad but similar to someone thomas in that he always seems to come with a bit of baggage. Think if the dressing room is solid enough to keep him in check, he could be a game changer and will improve the current squad 10 fold.

Feels like a lot of high risk, high reward signings being talked about. Again every signing is a risk but some are definitely more than others.

c'mon the pars

Berkey, Sun 8 Jun 22:15

Looking at the results after he left Dom pretty much single handedly kept Queen’s Park up. He would absolutely be the type of player we could do with.

Not sure whether Dom’s problems with disruptions last time were caused by working with yogi and Grant, both total wallapers.

Agree with that, Berkey. Dom, on his game, can add that bit of quality or creativity that can make the difference in a tight game.

I also agree that a player`s relationship with his manager is vitally important. I believe Dom got on reasonably well with Peter Grant. Not so much with Mr Hughes, and he wasn`t alone.... 🙄

Not your average Sunday League player.

Ooohhh…only 2 I can think of (after a quick flick through squads) is Matt Clarke who played for Livi and Ryan McGivern who played for Hibs…..but I’m no expert about the NI league

I always thought Dom Thomas played better when the TV cameras were there. In his first season, he scored one goal against Hearts and that was it.He scored 5 goals in 46 league appearances in total for us.
I remember he had a few assists from corners for Euan Murray at one point but I can`t remember too many from open play for a player of his ability.
I always felt he went into hiding if he didn`t fancy it. One game away at Cappielow sticks in mind, it was 0-0 and everyone was honking but he hardly had a touch before he was hooked and put out of his misery. He started 36 league games for us and I reckon he was subbed off in more than half of them, very rarely did he play 90 minutes?
All of that being said he is an upgrade on anything we have seen in recent seasons.

Aren`t we obsessed with stats nowadays with concentration on goals and assists, and clean sheets for defenders and goalies? How do you assess the impact of a player who is a bit unpredictable, raises expectations when he gets the ball and drags opponents out of position with his movement and passing, say?

This isn`t meant to be an unqualified approval of Dom Thomas who would bring a bit of `baggage` with him if he signed but I do think there is still a place in football, certainly in the Scottish Championship, for players like him.

hows about Wanting better and signing a left sided centre half...

maybe he was improved after leaving Hamilton but didnt think he was that decent then, dont see the need for another right sided centre half right now either.
